Former Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas joins EastEnders

Former star Jamie Lomas, who is married to actress Kym Lomas, is joining . The actor, who has a two-year old daughter with former singer Kym, will arrive in Walford as Jake Stone, a womaniser and recovering alcoholic. His character be seen on screen from September. "I'm over the moon to be joining the cast of ," said Jamie. "I have admired the show for many years and I can't wait to start working with such a strong cast of actors." Jamie previously played villain Warren Fox for five years, leaving the soap in 2011. During his time at the Chester-based soap, Jamie's character Warren was involved in some of the soap's most dramatic storylines, including one in which Warren faked his own death. Jamie's arrival in Albert Square marks an exciting summer for the soap. Earlier this year it was announced that Samantha Womack would be returning to the soap as Ronnie Mitchell after a two-year break. Another former actor, Gary Lucy, is joining the soap later this year after a brief stint in EastEnders in 2012. After the announcement of his signing, Jamie took to Twitter to show his appreciation for the positive reaction.
